BML Gala at Scunthorpe 16th April 2022

To all those selected for this gala who are travelling on the Club Bus:

Please meet outside Adwick Leisure Complex at 9.45 am. We are hoping to be on the road for 10.00 am so please be on time! Warm up at the Riddings is 11.30 am and we anticipate being back at Adwick at around 3.30 pm -ish. Last time we competed here, it was very warm so please make sure you and your swimmers have plenty to drink!

Good luck to everyone swimming on Saturday. We’re all Adwick aren’t we?

Badge Night

Our next Badge Night takes place on Friday 29th April
We’d like to invite any member of Adwick Swimming Club who wishes to participate to and come and swim for one of our distance badges.
This is when we offer our swimmers the opportunity to swim for distance badges, starting at 50m all the way up to 5000m badges. Most children swim for 1 badge (i.e. 100m). Some children swim for one badge but pick up another on the way (i.e. swim 400m but pick up the 200m one at the same time). Set yourself a target and see how you get on. Start small and over time, try to earn every badge that we offer.
Badges on offer on the night are as follows:
50 metres 100 metres
200 metres 400 metres
800 metres 1000 metres
1500 metres 2000 metres
3000 metres 4000 metres
And the ‘Big One’: 5000 metres (that’s 200 lengths!)
Entries for each badge cost £3 and all swimmers who complete the required distance will receive their badge and a certificate.
There will be no Friday night swimming sessions on this date but we’d encourage as many swimmers as possible from our Friday night sessions to enter and get that first badge and start off their distance swimming journey.
It’s always a great evening with lots of support for our swimmers from the balcony and on poolside. Can you go the distance? Set yourself a challenge and get yourself entered. Good luck to all our swimmers!
Entries via the desk in the Club Room. Last date for entries will be Friday 22nd April @ 8.00 pm.
